This 25-page paper tests the possibility of identifying and mapping areas where planting pits (zai or tassa) could be extended in West Africa. DEVECOL/Africa maps and case studies were the basis for the analysis. This paper was written before Devecol/Africa was converted to the internet as Geo e-Links Africa.
